i´m an ABGAS, hey watcha gonna do...

i first saw them late ´79 in a recordstore in konstanz (kraut-land), where we smalltown punks met to listen to records but didn´t buy them. 2 kids from kreuzlingen, abschreck and sinnlos, punx, from the other side (cheese-land). they were the only punx in their little town and wanted to play punkrock. as i was in a band (08/15) and we had a rehearsaldump, we thought, give them room to live, and so they went. none of them could play any instrument, but within a few days they had a set of 10 genius songs (read about it at sinnlos-fanzine) like münsterlingen, kleines mädchen, die welt ist tot and more. listen to it on the first ABGAS greatest hits tape and the ABGAS double 7". in these times i often (always) went to their gigs, it was great pure punk and they went on, makin ´their way, played in front of 1000 milano punks and threw stinking fishes in the audience all around switzerland. because they always had problems with bassplayers (junkies or christians) they asked me in early 1983 to join the group, and of course i said yes. it was sure for us that there was nothing left to say, so we decided to make the audience just watch and listen to the music. another ABGAS was born, playing naked, just instrumental songs as you can listen on Die Tänzerin 7" from 1983. we went on for 2 years, performed live and recorded the And I wait tape in 1985. but times were hard, we decided to take more drugs, and go our own way. abschreck went to hell or heaven. spätheimkehrer stayed at home watching tv. sinnlos went all around the world.
But Punk is a neverending Lovestory of Friendship, so we met again and still sing:

Die Welt ist tot

Hackelberi Spätheimkehrer
